Cher Jewelry Website

This was a website done for Gabriel&Co., my employer, that got off the ground and launched… but then the deal fell through. I was pretty bummed because I did the whole thing myself – including all the graphics and editing of the product images. My employer, among many other things, designs and manufactures “Private Label” jewelry for celebrities. We made a whole bunch of stuff for Cher that was sold at her concert late 2008 in Las Vegas. The jewelry sold out twice at the casinos.

So I thought we should approach ol’ Cher with a deal to sell jewelry directly to the consumer via a Cher website. I mocked up a concept, complete with shopping cart, blog, community boards, etc., and Cher loved it. But my master negotiator senior management botched the deal. Cher’s “percentage” was ”too large” so we walked away. I thought it was a grave mistake since every piece of the company jewelry carried our brand. It was a great marketing/branding opportunity that got passed up.

The jewelry was beautiful. Done mostly in silver.

Jewelry lines are planned now for Bette Midler and Elton John. Let’s hope there will be some good decisions made…
